Bio

Peter Moc was born in the Czech Republic in 1987. He started studying classical music at the age of four on a recorder and the guitar at the age of 11 years old. By the time he turned 15 years old, he realized that he wanted to become a professional guitarist. After few years of taking official classes on classical guitar, private classes on electric guitar with musicians from Europe and America, he found his challange and passion in jazz and blues.

After finishing his first unirversity degree form English and American literature, he followed his dream and applied for prestigious college for jazz in Ireland. He passed the audition but did not have enough financial tools to cover college fees. His life-long dream would have been ruined if his generous sponsors The Endowment Fund Kolowratek run by Maximilian, Francesca and Dominika  Kolowrat-Krakovsky, descendants of Czech noble family, had not supported him emotionally and financially. With their help and support of his family and fellow musicians Peter made his dream come true.

Peter attended classes with David Liebman, Joshua Redman, Rick Peckham, Kenny Werner, Ralph Peterson, Ronan Guilfoyle, Mike Nielsen, Tommy Halferty, Jim Mullen, Zdenek Fišer, David Dorůžka, Libor Šmoldas, Luboš Andršt and many more incredible jazz and rock musicians.

Peter is based in Dublin - Ireland. At the moment Peter performs with stylisticaly different artists as a session musician (rock, pop, blues, jazz, classical),leads his own jazz-rock band SONO MONO, plays with a jazz trio SOLAR Trio.

2013 – SONO MONO - (vocals/guitar/rhythm section) This project started as a recording session in commercially well-known Windmill Lane Studio(Dublin/Ireland) and then turned into official band. All members are well-established jazz musicans in Dublin. Peter composes harmonically and rhythmically various compositions for this project in style of jazz and fusion.

2013 – TAKEN – Peter was performing with four pop singers in Dublin/Ireland and London/England. This project brought Peter to work directly and indirectly with popular artists from Irish music scene – Mark Greany (JJ72), Paul Walsh (Royseven), Danny O’Reilly(The Coronas).

2008 – Baf and sort of that stuff (BAF Trio) – Peter joined his friends and started playing in their original band in Decin in the Czech Republic. They were performing sung and instrumental compositions – vocals/sax/guitar/piano/rhythm section.
